Pennisetum setaceum 'Fireworks' is a tender perennial ornamental fountain grass shrub. It is a rapidly-growing, clump forming variety that is native to Africa, it produces arching, burgundy-red leaves with pink margins that grow to 1m tall and in late summer will produce red flower plumes held on arching stems that will fade to brown in autumn. In winter, once the grass has turned brown, it can be cut back right down to the ground to encourage growth for the following year. This plant will do well in most types of soil so long as it is well-drained, it is extremely hardy and can survive temperatures of as low as -15 degrees. Thanks to it's variegated colour it looks fantastic during the summer, so be sure to pick a spot in the garden that gets full sun
