It seems the drought has badly affected our Monkey Puzzle Tree seed yield, resulting in the early rejection of the un-pollinated seed pods.
The priority, identifying the seeds that warrant their viability - a pure 'experience based exercise' that will avoid a great deal of wasted time testing seeds that will not pass a viability test. Some folk will be dismayed to receive a MPT seed - minus it's tail, fear not, during it's dive to earth, it frequently encounters obstacles that knock that tail off - nothing lost in reality. With or without that appendage, it will respond to being treated as a welcome guest in your seed bed allocated for it.
